Undefeated at the 2022 Spring Championship

Interviews with the top players at the Total Escape Games 2022 Spring Championship about their lists and tournament experience.

Recap

5280 Legion hosted a 28 person tournament at Total Escape Games in Broomfield, CO on Saturday April 30th, 2022. The event was a fantastic success as we had players of all ages and skill levels participate. I want to give a special shoutout to TEG for being a fantastic host store, and also to everyone who helped make this event possible - whether by contributing to prize support, providing terrain, assisting with judging, or helping with set up and break down, we could not have done this without you. The team did an amazing job, and we once again had another major event go off without a hitch. After 3 rounds of standard 800pt play, we ended up with 4 undefeated players who were crowned champions. I was fortunate enough to interview all 4 to pick their brains on their lists and tournament experience overall.

Mike Agnew (@Mythic Games Colorado)

Walk us through your list big picture wise. What made you decide to go with this list for the event? Were there any unit or upgrade decisions you were torn on before the event?

I played a very similar list at Genghis Con a few months before, but with an AAT in place of the Magnas. It was good and did very well until the last round when I faced Gus (@SURVIVE) and his Vader gunline. Even that game was going very well until Vader got into my lines, and there was nothing I could do to stop the slaughter. So, I spent the time between those events getting experience with the Magnas as a counter to force users. They’re so tough to kill with a jedi that they can keep your gunline free to keep shooting.

What list style/archetype did you not look forward to facing most at the tournament and why?

Honestly droids, even with the ion spiders. I had done most of my practice games against Rebels and Empire and had no experience against another CIS list. Luckily I played Rebels round 1, & empire in rounds 2 and 3.

What list matchup or battle card setup were you hoping for the most at the tournament and why was that?

This gun line really wants the opponent to come to you while you shoot them, so Intercept, KP, Payload, & Sabotage can all be good. I played those 4 in my deck and had a very high bid at 13 points. I was blue in all 3 games and all had very similar setups. Round 1 was Roll Out, Intercept, & Fortified. Rounds 2, & 3 were Roll Out, KP, & Fortified. Fortified was good all day for B1s as they die so easily. You can also also use it to block off a pathway, slowing down most units, but Magnas are unhindered and can move so much farther than you expect over a bunch of barricades. Roll out was also great all day as the spiders usually want to get into position and then never move again.

What was the toughest match you played at the event, and what made it a challenge?

My round 2 opponent was once again Gus (@SURVIVE) with Vader Gunline. We ended up on KP, which was rough. This is a game that I should have lost despite my list changes to be better at this matchup. I made an early move in round 2 with some magnas that I thought was safe behind a large ruin… until Vader moved in and force pushed them around the corner in view of his entire gun line. Luckily the red dice were hot fire in this game. They weathered that assault and I only lost a model and a half to the rest of his army shooting them in no cover. (I did use some repairs to keep them standing.) Turn 3 Vader charged in with Implaccable and only got 1 wound through on his swing. Choking to add a wound to the rocket magna. His second swing was the same result, 1 wound and then a choke. The next turn I played Preservation protocols, and disengaged the single remaining model to charge the last few stormtroopers in a squad that had hidden behind the center KP… and between his standard 2 black dice in melee and the tenacity die, I killed the stormtrooper squad off before dying. Gus held Vader’s might until round 6 and had some excellent plays to force a tie on the KPs . Initially we did the math and thought that I had lost by 10 points, but then remembered an officer that was melee’d to death by B1s that gave me the win on kill points by about 40.

What did you feel your list did well at during this tournament? Any specific objectives, game situations, etc?

The spiders are just so good against vehicles. In round 3 I faced Coby (@Coingram) and his Vader & AT-ST. Luckily, to include those 2 heavy hitters along with a full squad of death troopers, he only had 8 acts. We were on a Naboo board which had some tall buildings, and I ended up choosing one of those as my home KP. I used Roll Out to deploy the spiders behind it after he was finished deploying everything, and had set up to move into line of sight and in range of his AT-ST. I hid from the ATST until the last 2 activations, where I moved to and climbed the building with both spiders. From there, I kept it ioned in place, and I think it only attacked 1 more time all game. That attack did finish off a spider that Vader had Mighted off the building and sliced, but by then it was too late, and the ATST died on the next spider attack.

Any ‘cinematic moments’ or crazy stories from any of your games?

There was a point late in round 1 against Jeff (@Painting_For_The_Emperor) where Sabine was engaged with a 2 B1s, but wanted to shoot something else. He played Explosions and set them off taking the hit, but with the idea that it would kill the 2 she was engaged with so she could move. Well, 1 droid lived through both bombs and required a darksaber slice to finish off. This kept my lone B1 on my home transmission point safe from getting shot down by her since she couldn’t move. It wasn’t crazy cinematic, but it’s always surprising when B1s make multiple saves.

What surprised you the most at this event?

It was a great event, the turnout was excellent, and the prizes were sweet. My biggest surprise was winning all 3 of my games. I felt like I was losing to Jeff early on, but pulled that one out. I again, felt like I would lose to Gus and Vader during our game, and narrowly won. And I still felt like I might lose even after taking out the AT-ST with minimal casualties in game 3 after I shot at Vader for a turn and a half dealing zero wounds (luckily it was Operative Vader and the suppression mattered there). Great games all day and I can’t wait for the next one.

Anything you would change about your list from your experience at this event?

I missed the tank for sure, it just hits so hard and can completely cover a KP or block a payload cart. I also ran a sniper team in the list at Genghis and wished I had them against Death Troopers in rounds 2 & 3. But in the end this list won, so I guess it was a better list. Or it at least rolled better!

Anything else you want to add about your list, CIS strategy, or about the event in general?

This list obviously runs a lot of the new wave of stuff, Kalani, double spiders, & double magnas. They are all very good units, but I feel like the biggest advantage was that their newness meant that most opponents didn’t have nearly the amount of experience against them as they do with older units. The Magnas gain disengage from Kalani’s 2 pip card and I think that caught some of my opponents off guard. Kalani’s sharpshooter 2 was the deciding factor against Gus too, killing a lone scout trooper who had touched the center KP. Sharpshooter 2 gets right through their low profile and just leaves white saves in the end. That kill made the tie on that KP and pushed it to points and I won by less than that squad was worth.

Ricardo Soto (@Sotoliciousz)

Walk us through your list big picture wise. What made you decide to go with this list for the event? Were there any unit or upgrade decisions you were torn on before the event?

I decided to go with this list because I wanted to see if I could get a better record then I did at Ghengis Con. I started playing wizzy lizzy (read: wizard lizard) because 1, my wife painted up palp for me, and 2. because I love Bossk. I had heard of lizard wizard before and so I wanted to give it my own try at it. I feel like many people forget that Bossk has a few tricks up his sleeve, and with the help of the old man he can start doing some shenanigans such as shooting 2 times a turn (or even 3 on his reptilian rampage turn!) 2 attacks with a suppressive, pierce one gun can shut something down. Not to mention that in this list he has his own dedicated IRG with spotter scopes to ensure he gets an aim for when he attacks. After Bossk gets a few rounds of shooting in, when the time is right on either turn 5 or 6, Palpatine can pop his burst of speed and the surprise! - he is in the middle of the fray zapping everyone and deleting units off of the objective. Before the event, I had zero bid with one of the snows having an extra man. Ultimately, I dropped the snow trooper upgrade to give myself an 8 point bid.

This list is awesome by the way. So unique yet so terrifying. Was guardian 6 with 3 copies of protector just right or did you find it was more than you needed? Also how did you like your force power build on palp?

Guardian 6 was sometimes too much and sometimes not enough. For this list, I think it is right where it needs to be. If i am focusing heavily on protecting Bossk, then he gets to shrug off 7 crits.( 6 through protector and 1 from force barrier). I like the current force build with Palp because he can start each round off with essentially 2 dodges after turn 1, protect something from taking fire with barrier, and of course burst of speed himself right where he needs to be for his big moment. I might think about swapping force reflexes for force push in the future, but i seemed to always get value from the dodges.  Usually I try to only have Bossk visible as my other units hide or do objectives, so he naturally gets a lot of attention. I need those protectors to save my lizard from getting blasted off the table.

How was Burst of Speed on Palp for you? That seems like such a good combo that we don’t see on the table in 5280 as often as you might expect.

BoS is an absolute must. Palp is super slow at only speed 1, but with the BoS he can really cover some ground. If I’m lucky I can pop BoS and move just once to get right where I need to be for ANYWD to get a normal attack action off before I start giving myself wounds for his card effect.

How did you balance having both Palp and Bossk? Was Bossk doing most of the work early game with palp supporting, then palp swooping in for clean up near the end? How did that balance play out for you?

Palp for the most part is just hiding until late game, so I don’t really have to allocate much thought to him during the first 3-4 rounds of the game. Don’t get me wrong though, if given an opportunity or an opening I will absolutely BoS him in for his time to shine. Bossk was really the star of the show this tournament with his bounty giving me my two later wins. I place the bounty usually on someone who will have to get close to attack, like a force user, or perhaps a squishy generic officer. It really helps with zoning them out and makes them think twice before moving on in. I think Palp works so perfectly with Bossk that the command cards basically play themselves. Usually, i start out with Palp’s 3 pip to give everyone an order and let Bossk get into the right spot.

What list style/archetype did you not look forward to facing most at the tournament and why?

I was really hoping to not go up against a whole ton of armor, but thats because I just don’t really have anything to answer it besides Bossk and the occasional lucky crit from the snows. I have played double air speeders before, and I managed to shoot both of them down through the power of friendship between Bossk and Palp since they both surge to crit. It turns out gun lines are pretty chill to deal with since Bossk is range 4 and can mostly outshoot/suppress most troopers. If facing a melee skew, then perfect - I have 3 IRG and Palp just gets his time to shine earlier then normal.

What list matchup or battle card setup were you hoping for the most at the tournament and why was that?

I really wanted to face a list with just a bunch of B1s or naked rebels so I could easily start wiping activations off of the table early.

As far as card set up, I don’t think I care about any of the conditions at all since I can take advantage of almost all of them. As far as objectives go, though, I prefer the ones where I can either claim a hostage and run for the hills, or where everyone has to get close to contribute so that I can rush in there with the IRG and palp.

What was the toughest match you played at the event, and what made it a challenge?

They were all tough. There is not a lot of margin of error allowed here because as soon as I lose a unit, the snowball starts with only 9 acts (4 of those being naked corps). Round 1, I played Jordan, and his magna B2 swarms were interesting. He split his forces up on Hemmed In with Intercept. I had Bossk on top of a tall tower overseeing everything, and realized that his right flank was going to just ignore me. To respond, I had Bossk climb down and cover the rest of my army as they all shifted left to crush his now split up forces. There was a little scuffle in the middle for a bit, but at the end we took it barely on kill points, having lost just 3 snow squads.

Round 2 against Max had me shaking as his Op Luke was very scary. Had I not won the roll off for our 1 pips, I would not had been able to keep Luke stuck out in the middle with an immobilize token for Bossk to then clean up and secure his bounty. Max managed to stall my payload for one turn and I instantly knew I had to retreat and go for stopping his cart instead. Neither of us scored (on hemmed in as blue, mind you!) but Bossk secured his bounty on Luke. I think that was my toughest match honestly.

Round 3 I faced a Vader gun line which was tough, but Bossk managed to secure his bounty at the end while palp cleared up enough units to deny Mike from scoring his back KP.

What did you feel your list did well at during this tournament? Any specific objectives, game situations, etc?

I think people just don't see Palp or Bossk much, so they kind of underestimate the wombo combo. So, when someone steps out to challenge him, he takes those free shots and starts stacking bodies. I think this list does well securing an impassible area where you either have to go out of the way to ignore it, or walk into the firing zone of Bossk. Once he gets dug in on a perch with his support crew by him, its hard to get him out or even kill him for that matter.

Any ‘cinematic moments’ or crazy stories from any of your games?

Round 3 against Mike Stocker - it literally came down to the last activation with Bossk trying to secure his bounty on a Mike’s imperial officer (named Jerry, who is actually a Hoth Luke that his been painted up as an Imperial, pictured above). I had Bossk shoot him with two aims into heavy cover. Jerry already had two wounds, so I needed just to get 2 through. I managed to roll 3 crits, and it secured the victory.

What surprised you the most at this event?

I surprised myself honestly. I have put in some reps and taking quite a few Ls with this list, but learned patience is key. If it takes me the first turn or two to get bossk where he needs to be, that’s okay. Where as before, I felt I HAD to be shooting every turn or i wasn’t getting my value from him, which isn’t the case.

Anything else you want to add about your list, Imperial strategy, or about the event in general?

Fear the Lizard. Empire is in a good spot right now where there isn’t really a wrong way to build a list. I know there are people out there like “pshhhh 4 naked snows?? This is gonna be an easy win”… and then surprise! They shoot you and hide and you cant do anything about it. All while the lizard rains fire upon you for venturing too close.

The event was awesome as always. Everyone really helps out to get the tables looking awesome and are friendly all around.

The group here in 5280 has really helped out with teaching me new skills and tricks, and I really do think this could be the best community in the entire Legion scene. Without y’all I would not have gotten all these awesome games and memories in! I look forward to seeing new faces and claiming more bounties!

Zander Woolley (@VoidWolf)

Walk us through your list big picture wise. What made you decide to go with this list for the event? Were there any unit or upgrade decisions you were torn on before the event?

No one’s going to argue with bringing along an Op Luke and Vets. Luke is a really strong force user, and Vets and MK IIs are solid rebel corps. Other than that, I have a ton of fun playing Lando. His ‘contingencies’ keyword means he synergizes well with pretty much any hero and any scenario, as he can make and change plans on the fly. I get to take all 6 of Luke’s cards, all 3 of Lando’s cards, and see what is needed at the moment. While “I am a Jedi” and “YSYMW” are  very situational, they are absolutely clutch when needed. So it is fantastic to be able to bring them without sacrificing other command slots. Additionally, Lando’s ‘Ace Up His Sleeve’ is a great choice to play on Luke. Giving a Force User buried in melee a standby token at the beginning of the round is reliably a free attack. And it’s made even better by Charge and Disengage on Luke. The only downside is, in most of my games Lando has been a chaotic beast. In this list, he gets a bit overshadowed with Luke nearby and is relegated to a more support role. He still is strong and absolutely worth bringing, he’s just a little less prone to the ridiculous shenanigans that make him such a fun unit.

The original list had a generic commander rather than the second sniper. The thinking there was with Lando doing Lando stuff, I’d want another commander babysitting the gun line. But, in play testing, the extra dodges and vigilance the officer provided turned out to be mostly unnecessary. The second sniper adds more range 5 dice, a strongpoint of this list, and is cheaper to boot.

How did the double FDs perform for you at this event? Were you able to get the deployments/terrain you needed for them to be effective most of the time, or did you have instances where they were kind of shut down due to those factors? Would you take them again in a similar build?

I started messing around with the FD cannons as a potential counter to the high prevalence of double ion spider lists. Sort of an “I see your range 4 impact, I raise you to range 5 impact” deal. In the end, I didn’t face any double ion spider lists, and yet the FD cannons were still the unexpected MVPs of the list. The general goal was to play static objectives, and place the FD cannons were they could cover more than one objective. But a more specific play I did in all 3 games was wait to deploy them until near the end, then put them down where they were able to take a surprise hit on something on the first couple activations. In all three games, I was able to position one to kill or severely cripple an enemy unit first activation of the game, while still having them placed for good objective play throughout the game. And every gun you kill before it gets into range is a gun that doesn’t get to shoot back.

It often felt that while one FD cannon wasn’t able to do as much as I would have liked, the other more than made up for it. But the list still needs both, as it’s impossible to know which way your opponent will take the battle beforehand. With only one, your opponent can simply stay out of its way. With two placed in the right spots, at least one of them is going to get a lot of work done and likely to earn enough points to make both of them worth it.

The only troublesome terrain I had was in the final game, where the center Intercept objective was hidden between two tall LoS blocking shield generators. This forced me to deploy one much farther up the board than I would have liked to have any shots at all, meaning it died relatively quickly. The other was able to hold the back point (thanks to scout move from Advanced Positions), and at least had something to shoot at every turn even if it wasn’t able to cover the center as well as I would have liked.

Overall, they were extremely useful and I will definitely play them more. But in my mind it’s a two or none deal.

What list style/archetype did you not look forward to facing most at the tournament and why?

I have problems facing force users. That’s why I started playing Luke, to try to learn how to defeat them. But I don’t have much experience doing the force user positioning dance, so I count myself lucky the closest thing to a force user I faced was a Sabine with the dark saber.

What list matchup or battle card setup were you hoping for the most at the tournament and why was that?

With the FD cannons, either KP or Intercept on a deployment or condition that allows them to score one objective while taking shots at another is extremely valuable. One difficulty of static objectives is it can be hard to have a unit scoring a back objective contribute to the battle in the center. The FD cannons can do that, but only with the right battlefield. Intercept with Major Offensive is perfect, since the capture zone is right there in your deployment, but Advanced Positions is also great. KP with Advanced or Rapid Reinforcements condition is good, and game 2 I was able to drop an FD cannon on top of the back KP terrain piece and still cover the center.

What was the toughest match you played at the event, and what made it a challenge?

Round 2 I played against a close up, in your face droid list. It included a flamer DSD, magna guards, bx droids, and a snail tank loaded with B2s. Even after the FD cannons hammered his line (and killed his t-series on the first activation of the game!), he still got enough stuff up close to hit my gun line hard. On top of that, I made the mistake of getting Luke entangled with his magna guards, and that gave Luke a rough time with that immobilizing whip. In the end, I had to force push them away and sacrificially charge a strike team into them to let Luke get away to do more important Luke stuff. And there was simply no stopping that snail tank as it chewed through my gun line. But in the end, I survived with more bodies able to hop on the KPs.

What did you feel your list did well at during this tournament? Any specific objectives, game situations, etc?

KP and Intercept. Thats what this list does well, and luckily that’s all I played. In general, FD cannons are looking for objectives that force your opponent to come into the danger zone to score. Intercept and KP are great for this, as is Payload and, to a lesser extent, Recover. Hostage would have been rough, as once the Hostage carrier gets out of FD cannon danger zone, the cannons can’t do any objective play at all.

While Luke did not like being engaged with Magnaguard, he very much enjoyed dueling Sabine over the center Intercept point despite Sabine saving absolutely everything. With Force Push and Disengage, he was still able to control the center while preventing Sabine from gunslinging my gun line.

Any ‘cinematic moments’ or crazy stories from any of your games?

A major highlight was Lando’s 2 pip. In most Lando lists I’ve played, I reserve it for discarding and giving out an extra order at a critical moment. But with Luke, that standby is so incredibly valuable. Game 1 against a Han, Lando, Chewie list, I “Son of Skywalker”ed Luke into Han and took him out, then pushed his Lando into engagement as well. I followed up next round with ‘Ace up his Sleeve’ to give Luke a standby, and as soon as one of his units did something I used the standby to disengage and slash into Chewie, then followed up with Luke’s actual turn to finish off Chewie. Thus, I basically was able to Son of Skywalker two turns in a row.

In the final game, I used it to counter an incoming Explosions from Sabine. I set up Luke and Lando in range of where I knew Sabine wanted to go, and gave them both standby tokens. Sabine could then either take a much less optimal Explosions location, or risk the wrath of two attacks and engage before getting to set anything off at all.

What surprised you the most at this event?

I did not expect the FD cannons to be nearly as effective. They aren’t popular, so I haven’t tried them much. But now that I have, I’m in love.

After playing the craziness of Han, Lando, Chewie for a while, I was also surprised how sensible and predictable Lando became when paired with Luke. He’s a great addition to an Op Luke list, but he loses some of that gambler’s flair.

Anything you would change about your list from your experience at this event?

My vets need situational awareness. This list generates a lot of dodges for them, but they often weren’t able to use them because only crits got through heavy cover. I’ll have to be thinking about what to drop to get them this. It’s likely that one FD cannon will lose LTA, and that will do it. While it was usual for one of my FD cannons to get an order, it was often clear from deployment which would get the orders and need the extra aims and which would not.

Anything else you want to add about your list, rebel strategy, or about the event in general?

I recently read through Jason Baird’s interview from Genghis Con, and part of his Republic advice is “trust your saves.” My Rebel advice is “Trust your saves to fail.” Rebels hit hard but fold easily, so you’ve got to engage on your terms. Stay behind cover, preferably out of LoS, until the moment is right to hit hard, preferably over an objective. Pierce is a wonderful tool Rebels have a ton of to ensure that the enemy simply doesn’t have the chance to save.

Other than that, I’d say for any faction that target priority is very important. Pick something you think would hurt your enemy a lot to lose, then hammer it mercilessly. If you shoot a little bit of everything, they still have a bit of everything at the end. A hero with 1 health left is just as deadly as a hero at full health. Just be sure to pick something that won’t take a wasteful amount of time and effort to kill.

The event was super fun. Thanks to Stephen (@ASpaceViking) for running a great event, and for TEG for hosting!

Blake Sewell (@Blokanator)

Walk us through your list big picture wise. What made you decide to go with this list for the event? Were there any unit or upgrade decisions you were torn on before the event?

I wanted to use all the new CIS toys. Snail Tank, Spider Droids, MagnaGuard, and the Super Tactical Droid are all awesome and I tried different variations of all of them before the event. Once I put Attack Protocols on the Snail Tank, I knew I wanted this to be a Range 4 armor gunline that made it nearly impossible to trade favorably with at range. Kalani with Strategize 2 combined with LTA and Precise 2 just makes too much sense not to use. There was a version of this list that squeezed in a B2-HA but I was trading away the E-5s B1s. The ‘electrobinoculars’ on the b1 were also a last minute addition just to keep those aims up where I needed them.

Have you played the AAT much before? If so, how do you like the Snail tank compared to the AAT?

I like the AAT a lot! What is great is that there are a lot of differences between the AAT and the Snail tank that make the decision kinda tough depending on what you want to do. For me, it came down to point cost. I’m saving 25-ish points with the Snail tank that is effectively doing the same thing at Range 4. If you want Red Saves, Field Commander, High Velocity, or some sort of suppression build I think the AAT is the right choice. I also love the option to use the Snail tank as a transport! I don’t usually bother, but it did come up in one of my matches at the tournament.

What list style/archetype did you not look forward to facing most at the tournament and why?

I was worried about a Vader gunline the most. T-21 Storms can trade with armor at range with a lot of crits and Vader can be tough to kill. I was also a bit worried about Anakin + Saber Throw + Fire Support due to the amount of Impact/Pierce being thrown at range that could easily kill a Spider or take a significant chunk out of the Snail.

What list matchup or battle card setup were you hoping for the most at the tournament and why was that?

I was looking forward to the Matchup against Rebels or CIS. I am most practiced against these factions and I think they will simply die when having to save against the large dice pools I’m throwing. I love to see Long March, Moisture Vaps, Key Positions, basically battle cards that can use my range advantage while not being entirely trooper dependent.

What was the toughest match you played at the event, and what made it a challenge?

Match 2 against Stephen Velasquez was definitely a challenge. We played at a breakneck pace, getting through 6 full rounds of Payload in under 2 hours including set up. I was against GAR, Anakin with Barcs and strong corps pushing some Impact 4-5 Fire Support shots into my armor. We traded back and forth, it eventually came down to my corps against his, and I had too many activations for him to stop my cart from a tie on victory points. It came down to kill points, which was only a 30pt difference in my favor!

I knew Stephen was a fast player going into this but I think I still made some risky plays because of this. Just a reminder to everyone to take your time and think out your moves even if your opponent is slapping down their next card while you are still picking up tokens. (Nothing against playing fast, just isn’t for everyone)

What did you feel your list did well at during this tournament? Any specific objectives, game situations, etc?

My list felt flexible. I mainly ended up going against Force Users, so I was surprised that pretty much in each game the opponent’s Force User was not allowed to attack even once - either by being completely zoned out by my firing lines, or being last-first killed by my assassin Snail.

Any ‘cinematic moments’ or crazy stories from any of your games?

I had one during match 2 against Stephen Velasquez. I decided to make a risky play at the end of round 2 when he stepped Anakin just close enough, without a dodge, for my Snail tank to close the distance for a Range 2 dice pool. I disembarked my Magnas (luckily this was the game I decided to put them in the tank) and they charged in for a last-first kill on Anakin. I did end up trading the Magnas and the Snail tank in Round 3 to make this happen, but in my mind the only way I was going to lose was if Anakin was still alive by the end, so I needed to make a play.

What surprised you the most at this event?

I went against GAR all 3 matches! All were running Anakin. I was also surprised at the amount of new faces showing up for events! It feels good to have such a healthy community playing this awesome game.

Anything you would change about your list from your experience at this event?

It is possible to get up to 11 acts if I trade away some of the B1 heavies. I’ve gone back and forth on this -the B1s tend to be swingy, and I felt way better about the games where I was out-activating, so I might look at this again.

Anything else you want to add about your list, CIS strategy, or about the event in general?

CIS is in a really good spot right now and I wouldn’t be surprised if we see some rebalancing in the future. You can smash so much into a CIS list that it is almost all good stuff. I’m looking forward to revisiting Dooku with Magnas in the near future.

The event was awesome as always! Big shoutout to the store, Total Escape Games. It is a great game store and  hobby space  with some of the best terrain and tables just outside of Denver. Go check them out for whatever your gaming fix is.

Wrap Up

Congratulations to Mike, Ricardo, Zander, and Blake for going undefeated, and shout out to them for sharing their thoughts on the event. If you find yourself in Colorado and want to play legion, make sure to check out our events calendar and join the discord to get in touch!
